VT Operation
I have been gaining experience over the last couple of years in EVS and Server Operation through my work with TVM and Setanta Sports. I have covered various events including the GAA Allianz League, Barclays Premier League, the 2012 FA Cup Final and Oxegen Festival. I am looking forward to working on Euro 2012 with Setanta.
This is a video I shot (with the aid of a second cameraman) and edited in a few hours for Dublin Simon Community’s ‘Sing for Simon’ Christmas campaign 2011. We documented an all-singing, all-dancing flashmob in St. Stephen’s Green shopping centre.
Media Production
I’ve been a researcher, rigger, cameraman, vt operator, editor, radio show producer…I’ve been trying to get as broad a range of experience in the media industry as I can, since 2008. More and more, I’m finding that as media content and means of delivery is converging, it’s a distinct advantage to have a well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of digital media, technical and editorial. Companies I’m currently involved with include Outside Broadcast services provider TVM, the TV station Setanta Sports and production company Athena Media , but as a freelancer I’m always on the lookout for more work. A piece of music I wrote and recorded for an ongoing ‘Book to Music’ club called ‘Past Everything Now’, which was inspired by Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea.
This is the opening sequence from a documentary I shot and edited as part of my M.Sc in Interactive Digital Media in TCD in 2010. I also wrote the music.
